Mortality & The Sea… Scrimshaws & Relics pt.5

The ocean on whose surface vessels can ride but in whose depth sailors meet their death and monsters conceal themselves… it is as unstable and threatening as the earth is not; it spawns new life daily, yet swallows up lives; it is changeable like the moon, unregulated, yet indestructible and eternal.

These are the first 3 pieces in an ongoing  collection focusing around the themes of  mortality, the sea, wanderlust, solidarity, and hope.  These pieces use salvaged antique ivory scrimshaw and  World War I & II  relics set into hand carved 1 of 1 Bronze and Sterling Silver settings.
